Say Goodbye to Stubborn Ice Patches!
Tired of that slick patch of ice that winter always brings to your outdoor steps? With Saltnets® Snow & Ice Melting Mats, that slippery ice patch becomes a thing of the past! Safely take a step outside and enjoy the benefits of having an area that's free of snow and ice without the hassles of shoveling and spreading rock salt.

Eco-Friendly & Pet-Safe
Forget using harsh rock salts and other corrosive melting agents! You'll no longer need to worry about salt rocks getting stuck in a pet's paw or having salt tracked through the house. Saltnets® mats are eco-friendly and safe for pets. By containing the salt compounds inside the mat, Saltnets® mats are able to reduce overall melting agent waste.

Quality Construction
The secret behind a Saltnets® mat lies in its tube-like construction. Each mat features durable, 100% nylon construction which is stitched together in tubes and stuffed with melting agents to provide even distribution. Free of toxic chemicals, these mats can provide ice-melting action by using a stuffed blend of sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, and calcium chloride. These particular stair-tread style mats each measure 9" x 27.5" and are similar in size to a standard step. Purchase this multi-pack of ten to create a clear path on outdoor steps that will get you from point-A to point-B without having to trudge through snow or slip on ice.

How It Works
A Saltnets® mat works by drawing in moisture and reacting with its melting agent to provide heat. Once the mat heats up, it will melt snow and ice, creating a brine that is then wicked around the mat. The mat then dries up and gets ready for its next round of winter precipitation. There are two ways you can use Saltnets® mats: you can either lay them down before winter precipitation occurs or you can wait and place them on top of previously fallen snow or ice. If you lay them down before precipitation, they can be used to prevent snow and ice from bonding to the ground's surface. Either way, the mats will begin melting unwanted areas of ice and snow and leave you with a nice, clear patch that you didn’t even have to shovel!

Melting Conditions
Since temperatures and winter conditions vary from region to region, there's a lot of factors that can affect the rate at which ice and snow will melt when using a Saltnets® mat. It can work in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit, and best of all, these mats only activate when needed, so you can either leave them out all winter or conserve them in storage. To expedite melting and conserve the melting agents inside your mats, you can shake or dust snow off them. Saltnets® mats were designed to last a full winter season of use, but depending on your local weather conditions, your mats may last longer or shorter. For best results and longer product-life, we recommend storing your mats when they're not in use.
